Second Gwadar bunkering goes operational
Pakistan has successfully completed its second marine bunkering operation at Gwadar Port, strengthening the port’s role as an emerging marine fuel supply hub for international shipping. Vitol conducted the operation using its bunker barge Marine Ista, supplying IMO-compliant Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) produced by Cnergyico PK Limited to an LNG carrier. Following Pakistan’s first-ever Gwadar bunkering operation just days earlier, the latest milestone demonstrates that the port now has an operational marine fuel service, supporting its growing importance as a strategic maritime gateway and strengthening Pakistan’s wider trade and logistics network.
