PM approves electricity projects for Gwadar, Gilgit-Baltistan
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved key electricity projects for Gwadar and Gilgit-Baltistan to ensure uninterrupted and sustainable power supply. Chairing a meeting on power sector reforms, he directed immediate implementation of a comprehensive plan to resolve Gwadar’s electricity issues, calling reliable power vital for port operations, investment and economic growth. The Prime Minister also approved a 100MW solar project for Gilgit-Baltistan, emphasising clean and stable energy. He reiterated the federal government’s commitment to regional development and instructed swift execution of short-, medium- and long-term power strategies.
