Gwadar Port cuts charges by up to 60% to boost global trade

Gwadar Port has introduced major tariff reductions of up to 60% to attract global transit and transshipment traffic and strengthen its position as a regional logistics hub. Berthing fees for container ships have been reduced by 25%, while charges on transit and transshipment cargo have been cut by 31% and 40%, respectively. The government has also extended free cargo storage from five days to one month. These incentives are expected to lower shipping costs, increase cargo handling, generate employment opportunities, and accelerate economic growth in Gwadar and across Pakistan’s maritime sector.
